I remember Katy Perry fans saying after listening sessions of 143 that Katy's new album is second coming of Teenage Dream. And they said how every song is an instant hit and Katy is so back.

 

however, every song released so far is god awful? So what was the hype about? Were they listening to smth different?

I mean they are Katy Perry fans. Why anyone would believe their taste would equal good music is the question here.

Katy fans tend to be delusional. I remember they thought she was going to win a Grammy over Xtina when Dark Horse was nominated; the tweets showed us Katy fans don't have a clue when it comes to music.

Tbh I'm an OKPH and the listening party results gave flop. Like one person said 'for me it's better then smile and witness' the for me was telling. If something is good you'd objectively say it, let alone compare it to her worst albums.

 

where the Kat's went wrong was coming for Gaga all year saying they're in the same boat cause of Spotify and then using the met gala viral likes as 'evidence' of interest when it was label planted

We heard 2 songs in full. The official preview of Nirvana is worrying but the leaked snippets tell us there is much more to the song than what we officially heard in HQ so far. That is to say, don't speak too soon. The album might surprise us once it comes out.

 

Also she shouldn't be crucified for making simple fun pop music if that is what she wished to make. So many people do faux-deep gloomy music nowadays. She doesn't have to fit that mold if she doesn't want to.
