Katy's music is very vapid and plastic which her music always was but her older stuff had a sense of fun and it felt like she was enjoying herself in the plastic manufactured music she made but now these songs come across as more from desperation than any sense of genuine fun and joy so nobody wants to listen to it.

Probably cause Shawn didn't have his last 2 records flopping and he didn't produce a song with the one who shall not be named

Also, this is lowkey a success for Shawn since he has been bombing since Wonder

Both of the songs released, on both of their albums have absolutely no replay value.

Both of them are flops, let's not act as if Shawn is doing good

I mean they both kinda tanked. Shawn shouldn't have waited 4 years to release something after his last album underperformed. Others with similar sound have definitely taken a big chunk of his audience. 
 

As for Katy, everyone left her in 2014.

well he cancelled his tour and went ghost for 2 years so I don't really think he was in the album making space until now
