ThousandMiles Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) With the success of BRAT amongst the general public, I can't help but feel sad we've lost our own underground gay icon Charli to the straights. Now with her new feature with Billie I fear she's successfully infiltrated into the straight community, therefor losing several aura points. Lame straight people I work with in my conservative town are now following and liking her pics on Instagram, and doing the viral "Apple" dance. Are you grieving as well? She is in her bag and will probably be nominated and win her first Grammy, but at what cost? Should we have tried harder to gatekeep Brat? Edited August 1 by ThousandMiles 9 3 23
Antisocialites Posted August 1 Posted August 1 have you even listened to BRAT? Charli loves the attention and the mainstream. 2

ThousandMiles Posted August 1 Author Posted August 1 so now that the consensus is in, and everyone agrees. How can we gatekeep Charli's next album?
Popular Post glitch Posted August 1 Popular Post Posted August 1 Crazy that people want to gatekeep an artist and want them to be underground and niche forever. People have always been talking about how underrated Charli is and now she's blowing up that's a problem? Be happy for her success, because more success means more budget for her future projects. 15
bleuwaffle Posted August 1 Posted August 1 No? Especially since Charli's been in the industry long enough to not sacrifice her vision going forward, so it's not like we have another sell out era to look forward to as a result of her crossover. I'd even bet her next project will be made with the intent to filter out some of the new fanbase she's gotten. 2
Billionaire Posted August 1 Posted August 1 idk how you see all this success and feel anything but happiness that she's finally getting her flowers 8 5
