The sound of my youth. It was carefree, beautiful pop music which I still listen to from time to time.

Love Jenny, the whispering chanteuse, but I prefer the original line-up with Kerry, they had such a carefree attitude and chaotic energy... Then they just became... "beige"

One of Britain's most underrated girl bands. I said what I said. 

I was just relistening to their discography a few days ago. Love them, one of my fave UK girl bands! (Natasha, Liz and Jenny lineup of course)

The Last Goodbye and It's OK! remain pop perfection. The early 00s were really such a great time for UK pop music.

I thought they already reunited and tour UK/EU.

They randomly came to my tiny ass hometown in Germany a few years ago where usually only small local acts perform and I kinda screamed when I saw that. The soccer moms must have had a blast.

I was a fan from the start and bought all the singles and original version of the "Right Now" album with Kerry. Natasha's voice really helped sell the group and they had some undeniable bops. Tabloid drama aside Kerry does have a decent voice and could sing.

 

AK's early releases did overlap with late Spice Girls and AK's own final releases did overlap with early Girls Aloud so in many ways they were not missed very much as GA (and to some extent Sugababes) filled the space AK vacated. 
 

I always thought Natasha's voice would give her a good start in context of launching a solo career but sadly commercial success eluded her then, though she is trying again now (not quite sure black lipstick and red hair make a good combo though).

 

I was also partial to Liz's solo foray in to music but my favorite was Jenny's.  Some of my favorite AK tracks include this early single though my favorite bop has to be this one. 
 

This was my personal favorite slo-jam (not "Whole Again"). I did find their second album to be their weakest overall and I do have soft spots for this cancelled single and this early (largely forgotten) bop too.

 

I do prefer their first and third album (their final one) and the quality of the songs (particularly on that one) were so great I always regretted this was never a single.

 

I'm not sure there is a demand for them to ever return and Jenny refuses point blank to ever work with Kerry and though I do miss their presence and despite loving them at the time, I rarely (if ever) return to visit their material.

Only as a duo (Natasha and Liz) or as trio with Kerry, but the gigs were very small and with no production at all.

I love Crash Landing. I think it's the best solo single from all of the girls. Too bad it flopped and Jenny gave up on pursuing a solo career.

 

Nice analysis about the Spice and Girls Aloud situation. I had never thought about that and it makes a lot of sense.

 

And yes, I totally agree with you. If You Come To Me (tied with Feels So Good and I Won't Be There) is my fave AK song. 

Whole Again (Kerry's version, her spoken voice gives the song a more melancholic vibe than Jenny imo) still is such a phenomenal song, it hasn't aged a bit.

Basically lol. They always gave the vibe of 3 random women off the street doing karaoke  They had bops though 

Loved them they had so many good pop songs! Whole Again and their cover of Eternal Flame are 2 of my fav girl band slow songs.

 

These three BOPS are my 3 favorite songs of theirs.

Natasha is (was ?) a great vocalist though, but the other two were terrible, I'll give you that.
