Katy Perry - '143'

Yep, this album is DOA. There is no possible way for them to move forward with this without destroying Katy's career (what's left of it) and legacy.

Scrap it or replace the dr luke songs with old demos or something from AI.

I'm tired of the hate train against Katy. Why do people keep picking on her? It's so unfair....... Even though her so-called friends drove her into becoming a rape victim and gossiped about her b

Do we know the producers for any of those songs yet?

I still stand with WW being a great song. To me, she delivered big time.  Doesn't matter to me if the album flops cuz i know I'll love the album 100%.

start with D and end with e

The Lifetime snippet is so good :jamming: :jonny5:

This one should have been a better choice for the lead

The question is… would you support another dr fluke produced single ?

Dax Martine?

We already know that Dr. Luke is involved in the album but will he be on all the songs? Maybe it's only in a couple and people are overreacting...

They made a mistake announcing album before single. If they didn't, they could've stopped whole era literally today after first day numbers and re-start campaign next year with new material. At this point they are just beating dead horse.

New material, why? I want good music no matter who it's from and so far it's delivered.  I couldn't be happier. Everyone is completely missing out.

The vinyl are already probably manufactured already. She's a legacy act now, no campaign re-start would change things.

Maybe they were still in pre-production or something. Campaign re-start a year from now would be the only smart decision here. There's just no point in going on with this era when lead single failed to debut in top 100 on Spotify. She's still not a legacy act, and this kind of bomb in unheard for an artist of her caliber.

Honestly Katy hasn't released an album in 4 years and waiting at this point would be just wasting time. She never had good reviews and Witness and Smile showed that not everyone is there for her despite the music not being bad at all (maybe not her best but still) and this won't just change with an album so she better just keep releasing good music for the sake of art. If people decide to come in that's great if not then their loss.

Waiting at this point would be the only good decision because people need to forget everything about this attempt of a comeback.

Even Witness and Smile had more momentum going into album than this will have.

Song will have less than 1m streams on its 2nd day. What is the point of going ahead? She's not independent artists who doesn't rely on success.

She managed to assassin her career and her character with same song in one day.

The same people who are trashing her now are going to trash her next year and the next and the next one after that and Katy's not getting any younger (unfortunately for pop music that's relevant). People are even making fun of her lines and they're also the same ones who will complain about ageism later  :ducky:

Lol exactly. I still remember how everyone and every critics hated Harleys when it came out

the thought process behind choosing ww as the lead single is mind-boggling to me... like i really want to know why :dies:

Says who? ATRL and the Guardian? lol

I can't believe people think she should shelve the album. That's ludicrous.

an album full of bops and ya'll are still worried about Dr. Luke.  I hope people

are bombarding his Twitter and harassing him about working with Katy.

Lifetime seems to be the most well received snippet so far. But what if it's another Dr Luke song? Would that disqualify it as a 2nd single or would that not matter?

Edited by 40_L3VE

She's never gonna shelve an album lol, she stands by what she does for better or worse. That's why you never see her trashing her past works unlike other artists, she's not ashamed of her previous projects regardless of the public's perception.

honestly the only way to somehow save this era is to let the album bomb at first, then see which track gets the most acclaim and then push that track on social media heavily

and by push i don't mean just posting videos to it, they need to make a deal with platforms such as youtube and tik tok to make sure the song gets pushed on the app

I feel like there's still hope for this album if she decides to push better singles that aren't produced by Lukas.

Lifetime and Nirvana are great. As well as I'm His, He's Mine.

So which one should be the next single?
Nirvana, Lifetimes or maybe Gimme Gimme?

It's definitely a "the past made me who I am today, and I love who I am, so I have no regrets" mentality.

Maybe it's part of her Christian programming and "gods plans." I don't know but I know a lot of people who think similarly, religious or not. I think it's valid, even if I don't prescribe to it myself

I really hope it's  Nirvana. That melody is stuck in my head since she played it. :jonny:
