Maybe it's because of the low quality but none of the three snippets she played got my interest, they're all kinda awful.  I just won't lie about it.

Honestly the way it spread so fast was fishy. Just like that AI Met Gala picture. We don't see this happening with the other girls.

There's a sadness to these clips... she looks both desperate and dissociated, clinging to an illusion that she might come off as cool and relevant again... the material sounds trite, a complete shell of other pop songs... there's no nourishment, there's no impulse, there's nothing that inspires or stirs up anything. All I feel is a low vibrating wave of energy from a woman in crisis. A woman in trouble. There's a darkness. 143 is empty.

Are people listening to the same snippets they sound absolutely amazing? Very clean and top notch pop productions

They're all terrible. She's going for Kim Petras rejects and trying to capture the gays but she's lacking the sound that got her hits

No its not. Theres threads dedicated to discuss katy's involvement with dr luke. this thread is solely about the album

and its music.

The backlash she gets is from nobodys on stan Twitter and kias like this has been d-list actress so go back to the cave you came from and try to find some creative ways to drag Katy because we've seen it all.

This is one person dragging yes and she's completely correct, but most tweets about Katy are lined with criticism about her working with a sexual abuser, and that's completely separate from the fact that her music is also just mediocre generally, confirmed yet again with her new song and snippets. Katy Cats bullying anyone who calls her out with death threats doesn't feed into the whole "nobody cares" narrative you all would love to push. The backlash is here sorry babes 

I like everything so far..

I'm just happy that she will bring excellence to us on the level of Smile and Witness.  no need for a boring mess like Prism.

IDK she has nothing to be sad over. Her life is pretty chill 

 

I gasped the moment I saw the online store. it took my breath away. But she has to tread carefully because certain aspects of these songs could come across as dated if not handled thoughtfully
