Her style was immaculate. Her swagger was unmatched. Her brand of futuristic R&B still sounds fresh to this day.

She was so damn cool. I showed my university age students Aaliyah a while back and I got the "she's so cool" comments. Still cool

Yeah she just had the x factor, like she looked and sounded like such a star and as said her music sounds just as good today.

I had the pleasure of meeting her for her red album signing and she didn't carry herself like a celebrity at all. She talked to me for a good 4 minutes. She had style, class and a good head on her shoulders and that really added to her cool factor. She carried herself like she just happened to make music and movies for a living but never above anyone else because of it. That's a rare quality to have. 

She made Rock the Boat, so yes 

Surprised no one mentioned Queen of the Damned. She was great in that movie
