Golden Hour was what got me into Kacey Musgraves and is still one of the best-produced albums I have ever heard, but there was always a few tracks I never clicked with. When I first heard Deeper Well earlier this year I was underwhelmed but it has massively grown on me, and at this point I think overall it stands toe-to-toe with Golden Hour (though that album's highs remain untouchable). What do you think?

I used to be a Golden Hour hater oh how I've repented so much.

 

The answer is still Pageant Material.

Deeper Well > Pageant Material > Same Trailer Different Park > Golden Hour > star-crossed

Golden Hour is a reallly special album to me and is one of my favs of all time. it's such a well produced emotional journey. DW is great too, but I think I just really like it instead of LOVE it, like I do with GH 

Golden Hour for all but The Architect and Anime Eyes.

Golden Hour for all  I like DW but Golden Hour is just a perfect album

Golden Hour was so magical, and so important to me in 2018-20.

 

Deeper Well has been out for a month, and it's already impressive that I'm not automatically voting against it.

Deeper Well really stole my heart this year. Haven't felt so connected to an album since 2020. Kacey is such a talented artist 

This is so difficult for me to choose but I will go with  Deeper Well. Its MY album of 2024 so far.

Golden Hour. Deeper Well has some great songs and is overall much better than star crossed, but there's way more filler

Deeper Well, as special as Golden Hour is for me - I never listen to it all the way through the way I do with DW.

Golden Hour was truly a lighting in a bottle type of moment. You don't come across music like that often. Truly one of the most special records I have ever listened to. 
 

But that is not to take away from how excellent Deeper Well is as well. I've been listening to it a lot since it came out, and I've found comfort and healing in its melodies and themes especially as I'm going through a tougher period now. 
 

By far my favorite album this year so far, and I don't see that changing. 
 

Still, the answer is Golden Hour.
