When you order reputation on Shein. Those cheap Kontakt sampler strings, the wanna-be Miley pseudo southern twang, the downright stupid lyrics. Critical & commercial bomb incoming

genuine question: is she serious? Or a parody/joke act?

Kinda, she was making music for little kids/pre-schoolers for like 8 years but I guess wants to keep making music as her full time career.

Im not even sure what a comparison would be I can't recall anyone who made as aggressively kiddie music as her ever transitioning out. Like even her follow Nickelodeon/Disney stars at least still had stuff that could be played on the radio. JoJo is like if Sophie Grace and Rosie still tried music after that one original song. That's the level she operated at.

Yeah... Her career with kids is over chile

As it should be. Some  few years ago when she was a teen making content for kids people used to bully her and say she was too "old" for it, so now why are they surprised that she no longer wants to be a kidz bop star

That's too bad. Ahe made millions. I think she could've dragfed it a bit longer and grow gradually through tiktok or insta.

I was texting my friend (who has gone hardcore swiftie out of nowhere in the last year) to share some JoJo Siwa memes. and then she goes "Karma is a very interesting choice considering someone way bigger (Taylor) already released a hit with this concept."

I responded: "I think you're reaching. Taylor released Karma like a year and a half ago now, and it's not the first song about karma. I think it'd be different if Jojo's lyrics and sound copied Taylor but that's just not the case here."

she blew up on me and now probably wont' talk to me for like 3 months bc thats what she does when she gets mad

she's right:giraffe:

People who take stan **** super serious like that are mentally unstable.

Both of them stole the idea from Queen Naija who came out with a hit called Karma in 2018… or Alicia Keys who released a song called Karma in 2004.

I've had friends like that, I'd suggest demote them as friends cause they need to reevaluate.

This song is hot garbage :ahh:

Don't think it charted anywhere on Spotify, I don't see people willingly streaming this song much. It had 221k playlist reach until later last night when it was added to more. Has around 6.5M playlist reach now combined. For a majority of the day her kids profile popped up when searching her name, a lot of people didn't know it was on streaming until they fixed it. Mess.

Let's be honest, she needed to make some noise and the easiest way is controversy. She's already 20 years old and even though she's still young, if you think about it, she should've already made some moves if she wanted to become a full-time singer - most teen acts had some hits by that age and a semi-established fanbase while Jojo has nothing. It's obvious she wants to be taken seriously. However, I don't think she understood the assignment because she went for controversy in the most cringe way but she'll learn from this I guess.

I don't think people are interested in actually streaming the song. The only time I see it on my FYP is because people are making fun of her. It's actually so mean :rip:

But I did see one comment that was like... nobody loves Jojo more than Jojo and it did make me cackle.

I see her having a similar run as Dixie. Nobody will take her serious, and she'll go viral for being a bad singer. She'll maybe release one or two guilty pleasures nobody will admit they like. Her first single will be front loaded/viral, and then everything that follows will do slightly less than the track before it... She'll probably release one or two EPs or maybe even an album if she's lucky and then get dropped.

someone was just driving by my house with this song blasting :bibliahh: I cannot-

I actually really like this song now I'm screaming.

It's definitely a guilty pleasure. The bridge is chefs kiss

The lyrics are SOOOOOOOO bad. Idk what they were thinking with the boring line

There's two camps of people dragging her right now. Those for good reason because of the situation of allegations with her girl group, and the horrible people she associates with. That's fair. The other camp dragging her for being a cringy-try hard and basically enforcing the point that they don't see her as a human being. (Likely due to her being branded her entire life, nothing she does comes off authentic to the public.) At the same time, she trolls a lot, so she definitely asked to be made fun of more to boost engagement on her song. It makes the general public respect her less while she is trying to appear grown.

While she did get a placement on billboards tiktok chart, and managed to debut on youtube with over 5M views in 24 hours, the majority of it is from people that don't like it. She might think that works now, but the song can't ride off of that alone.

There's some performances coming this month for the song promotional wise, but she needs to work with a better publicist so badly. She's stubborn and surrounded by yes men.

I think she should of went the britney or dirrty route.. this seems idk

I've added the song to my playlist so it's not a write off. Just half baked.

I like it, a trashy fun bop :dies:

I'm adding it to my Manjobi playlist

This is giving Can't Be Tamed era but horrendously executed

this is when you know someone has entered the hollywood bubble. when everyone around you is reliant for clout and jobs etc, of course they don't have your best interest at hand. it leads to a very stagnant career, like Shawn Mendes and Meghan Trainor.
