I love bir? It has a lot of personality

and face

I like both, but BIR has more of a “punch” to it.

BIR >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

BIR is better.  We will need to wait and see which is more successful.

How you can compare flavourless and faceless song to the perfect pop punk song as bad idea right?

training season >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have to vote for bad idea right.

BIR is more unique, punchy, creative, personality-driven, albeit immature.

Training Season is more faceless, albeit mature.

I prefer BIR.

Easily "bad idea right?". I really wanted to like "Training Season" more than I do, but it's so been-there-done-that for Dua Lipa. It's not a bad song by any means, and there are some interesting production elements, but it ultimately feels like a lesser version of "Break My Heart" combined with "Houdini". As someone who adores the introduction we got to DL3, it baffles me "Training Season" was supposed to be the lead instead and that "Houdini" was the last-minute replacement. I don't think it's even single material, honestly.

Meanwhile, "bad idea right?" was love at first listen for me. It's filled with personality, unapologetically messy in its premise, and so unique both sonically and structure-wise while being such an exciting new direction for Olivia, expanding on the rock influences she introduced on "SOUR". Brilliant song and I agree with Dan (Olivia's creative collaborator whose surname gets censored here) that it should have been the lead single over "vampire", even if I understand why it was chosen instead.

Comparing music videos, it's another easy win for "bad idea right?". Up there among my favourite mainstream videos of 2023, and I love its retro look. However, for now I think "Training Season" has worked better on a live setting. This can definitely change with Olivia going on tour later this year, where I think the song will go harder than the BBC Radio 1 rendition. But kudos for Dua's killer Grammy performance. Makes me wish she had incorporated this industrial aesthetic and cool choreography in the music video.

Bad Idea Right for sure. I need more songs like this and Good 4 U from Olivia because most of Sour and the ballads on Guts are so bad.

I do still like Training Season, but Houdini vs Bad Idea Right feels like a fairer competition & most of Dua's songs I like more than Olivia's.

I get how BIR might not be everyone’s cup of tea but for me it’s WAY better quality wise.
