Worst lead singles EVER?

Featured Replies

Break My Soul :rip:

I remember almost giving up on the era when she dropped it... like what was this Jess Glynn mess

Annoying insipid hook, not catchy at all, Big Freedia being obnoxious as usual

Thankfully it ended up being the only bad song on the album.

I am a little monster but I strongly believe that Stupid Love is one of the worst lead singles of all time. I mean it might could have worked for other pop stars but you can't be a legend like Lady Gaga and serve such low quality, such cheapness. This song is atrocious, dreadful and unispired. It almost ruined her pop career, it's the reason Chromatica has zero longevity, it destroyed ASIB's hype and Gaga's 10 years effort of rebranding her image. It's so annoying, cheap lyrics, cheap production, cheap music video. Just horrible

High By The Beach.  It's such a basic song when you compare it to the rest of the album's artistic offering. I know she made it towards the end of the Honeymoon's creation especially because she needed a more upbeat song as the lead single, but radio was never going to give her a chance anyway so what does it matter? The Blackest Day was right there. She should have went with one of the songs that showcase her artistic prowess.

At least she did something amazing with the music video but there is a reason HBTB is so forgotten today.

it surely isn't a masterpiece compared to the rest of the album or her catalog, but saying it's one of the worst lead singles ever? :clack: please be serious

Stupid love

me!

shake it off (taylor)

I know it's a hit but I think Thank U Next is bland as a lead and kinda the worst song on the album.

i'm still shocked anyone would even think that making a comeback after 6 years with this recorded diarrhea was a good idea

Perfectly said, just a horrible song.

I Wanna Have Your Babies is very overhated, it's an adorably catch harmless little bop.

Stupid love

Justin timberlakes latest two.

Everyone hates on ME! but let's be real, Taylor has to have insufferable pop songs to get a radio candy hit out of the gate. It's in line with Shake It Off, Look What You Made Me Do, etc. Look at the Lover tracklist, what songs are gonna be adequate... Lover, You Need to Calm Down? Only Cruel Summer is better but at that time it would not have gotten the mega attention ME! received because it's more of a slow burn.

I don't think ME! was a terrible choice for a single, just a terrible song.

HBTB is better than half the songs on Homeymoon (Freak, Art Deco, GKIT, 24, Swan Song)
