It was such a great era. The themes in the videos felt consistent. The album was cohesive despite trying new things. It was fun.

I still feel though that The Beginning never should have been a full album but just a 8-track EP tagged along this album. In the vein of a Monster/Cannibal/Paradise kind of project

Yeah, most of the songs are disposable. I liked it back in the days though, I loved some songs (XOXOXO, Just Can't Get Enough, Whenever, The Best One Yet).

You had to be there... everyone was gagged

It's crazy how forgotten Boom Boom Pow is compared to I Gotta Feeling.

It's also impressive how they managed to make a double release work (Imma Be in the US/Rock That Body in Europe), RTB even was a hit in the US later.

Album aged horribly but it doesn’t matter. This was a well produced, well thought out FUN era, which I feel is VERY much missing from modern pop music. Everything feels so serious now.  
 

We also really would benefit from having another multi-genre, multi-gender group act make it big again.
 

Also I would’ve never guessed it back then, but imo Rock That Body aged better than any of the other singles.

It was a radio single here but yeah, I thought the same, what a missed opportunity

I Gotta Feeling probably has the most iconic intro for any pop song.

Boom Boom Pow was horrible then and it still is but the rest of the singles are great 

Tbh these singles haven't aged very well but that doesn't change how massive it was, ESPECIALLY I Gotta Feeling which is probably one of the biggest hits I've witnessed, truly inescapable

crazy how overlooked this era in the ''pop online world'' is.... but that's probably bcuz they ain't got a gay/female fanbase

I loved the era back then! I remember getting the CD for Christmas in 2009 and going to the tour in 2010 which was super fun. 

 

BBP has always been a garbage song IMO. It was bound to age terribly. Rock That Body would've been a killer lead single and deserved better. Most of the album tracks were decent but Alive is probably my favorite these days. 

Ugh my childhood. I was obsessed with this album.   I attended to the tour with my brothers but  I only remember like 3-4 things lmao. I still listen Meet Me Halfway through  this days, probably the song that aged better from that album.

In their defense, I think almost 80% of the music from 2008-2011 hasn't aged well because it's too "noisy" and sounds dated. The hits from those years are good for a tb, but it's not something I would stream every day.

What an era, it was bop after bop. Sure some songs have aged badly but they were the jams back then.

Blackout, The Fame, second half of Sasha Fierce and this album revived my interest in Pop again

They were my first artist I stan. I was lucky to see the END live tour. It was my first concert, will never forget having Fergie 2 feet away from me. Very good memories from this album. It is indeed a monster era. So it had 28-29 weeks at #1? That is more that some of our MPG combined

I Gotta Feeling is literally weddings, graduations, funerals. To this day I still hear it out at bars or parties.

 

Rock That Body was their best single and should have gone #1 over Imma Be (Forgotten).
