Here's some facts about the famous Madonna's Vogue creator:

1992-erotica-diaries-3.jpg?w=362

1) He produced almost 300 remixes during the 80's/90's.

2) Despite being an unknown name to the GP, labels wanted him to remix their song from theirs artists.

3) He had the first producer/remixer to add new instruments to already made songs.

4) Some of his remixes are more well known then the album version:

5) Labels even give another push to "old songs" with a Shep Pettibone twist:

6) The first original song he created was Madonna's Vogue.

7) He has a limited budget to make it. It recorded the song with Madonna in a little studio and it was made to be a B side. The label pushed it to be a single.

8) Then he was hired to make an entire album with Madonna (Erotica)

Fun fact : you can see people playing trumpets in the music video while this version doesn't contain any. The theory is they first shoot the music video with the album version and switch it last minute.

His mixes are perfect for the ballroom scene!

I love his work with both Madonna and Janet.

1986-1992 was a fire period for women in pop.

one of the best old school DJ's along with Junior Vasquez

He worked on "Vogue" and "Miss You Much (Remix)" at the same time. He used the same drums and chords for the both song.

"Vogue" was meant to be a B Side and Shep had a very little budget so i guess it wasn't a big deal to him.

Even Janet's producers laughed about that in a podcast, they said something like "Shep forgot he used the same elements for Janet" 🤣
