Leigh anne will be associated with LM and won’t find success

Idk but Tyla’s music is a hundred times better

Want them both to win.

There are encouraging and cautionary signs for each of them.

Leigh Anne Pros: The music has been good, especially My Love (with both the song and video being exceptional). She has the Little Mix connection, which will always afford her a certain premium and platform. However many swings of the bat it takes.

Leigh Anne Cons: Something isn't connecting. The LM goodwill and curiosity seemed to only extend to her lead. The fact the superior follow-up that is My Love performed so badly is hella concerning. Labels are ruthless, so I dunno. The gworls say she is possibly self-funding and has teamed with Warner moreso for partnership/distribution, which technically means she can keep trying until something sticks. But one has to wonder whether she will want to if there are no tangible returns.

Tyla Pros: Water is smashing, feels like an organic breakthrough moment. She's "new", which from a product lifecycle standpoint always bodes well. She's also hella talented and seems "ready" to blaze from here onwards.

Tyla Cons: Have seen so many of these textbook starlets come and go. Gonna resist the temptation to call her an industry plant, but whoever is powering her push has been going in. Even before Water. From the scale of videos to the full-on army of heavy hitters writing/producing her material already. I say this to say, sometimes when the push is so full-on, it has the opposite effect. I mean Rihanna's launch kinda counters this a bit, but more times than not people like to grow with the act organically. Add to this the fact that the song is way bigger than her (most people don't even know who sings it), she has her work cut out for her ensuring that **SHE** becomes the focus.

At the moment, it's 50/50. It can either be the Rihanna edit (island/afro girl that makes it big) or Natalie La Rose (couple of viral hits, but faceless af and forgotten tomorrow).

As much as I enjoyed both of Leigh Anne’s singles, she lacks star power to be a solo star, somehow. Something simply lacks there and idk what it is.

Tyla on the other hand is hypnotizing and I’m excited to see what she’ll bring in the future.

Neither if we're being honest.

Tyla is kinda giving one-hit wonder atm since Water has been propelled by TikTok.

Things can always change tho.
