Is there an explicit version on Spotify? When I listened on my laptop it was playing the clean version and I couldn’t find the explicit one.

I don’t really hear what is so sonically different from the album tracks on this than from album tracks from PH. It’s overall the same chill rap/sung songs she’s always made. Only difference is no obvious pop hits, but I think adding a few wouldn’t have messed with the album’s integrity.

I think this is a classic Doja album. The only difference is the songs she decided to release as singles. If she would've released PTTR, Agora Hills, Gun, Go Off or Can't Wait, things would be similar to her previous efforts.

After a few relistens since yesterday, Skull and Bones is the best song

the beats selection is miles better on Scarlet than Planet Meh

I hope this album grows on me. I think it’s the album cover that’s putting me off are there any good fanmade ones I can change to?

It’s pretty clear that the singles threw this album off, cause there’s no massive decline in numbers from PH to Scarlet so the core fanbase is likely still checking her out. 

 

She should have released PTTR first instead of Attention. Agora Hills 2nd single on album release and maybe Balut as a promo single.

 

Attention and Demons shouldn’t have been released, not cause they’re bad but because I don’t think they really excited people for the album. 

Finally shes promoting!!!

I wouldn't go that far considering we had excellent albums from Little Simz, Angel Haze, etc. But FOR SURE, Scarlet is a standout album with amazing highlights and it's one of the best albums of the year.

The album starts off pretty strong in the first half, but I need a few more listens for the second half. Regardless, I think I'm intrigued by the whole project. The artistic direction is more interesting this time around and there are fewer low points on this over Planet Her which just had some tracks I didn't care about despite the high highs.

 

Overall, I like this evolution from Doja (especially with the visuals) and I think this will do well in the long run
