After the universal underperformance of the lead single of her fourth album; "Attention", Doja Cat has been rather silent on social media in regards to her upcoming era. This is odd considering she has been teasing the upcoming project since late 2022 and has been teasing snippets and track titles around the time "Attention" was released.

 

It appears that there isn't any promotion lined up for "Attention", no announcements have been made as of now and there is no say if an album is still even coming out. I mean, we don't even have a title or a release date

 

Mind you, Doja is scheduled to go on tour in less than three months in support of the upcoming album. Did Dr. Luke and RCA shelf Doja's upcoming album after "Attention" flopped or do you still think an album is coming out before her tour is starting?

This is true... If only Attention served M.I.A. level of interesting she might have gotten away with it but the song is so incredibly stale after one listen. It's unlistenable actually. I honestly think Dr. Luke is making her change the album last-minute, therefore an official announcement hasn't been made.

The timing is too off for that to be the case tbh. 

 

Who tf drops a sampler for the next era like 4 months before the tour of that era starts... and the album isnt even announced or out yet. That song was 100% the lead-single. 

I just love how the song received almost universal praise upon release and now suddenly everyone hates it.

She was never taken seriously as an artist. Her singles were always faceless pop hits.

I don’t like the song and don’t care about Doja but come on lol, every single artist has some songs underperforming and that does not prevent them to have more hits in the future. Cardi's last album was over five years ago 

 

Katy was allowed to drop her second album two years after her debut. Yet Cardi has had what? Four lead-single attempts since (and still no album out )
