Is Taylor Collab/Remix Poison?

Featured Replies

All the remixes she hops and she does to her own songs, mostly flopping

The most recent in our minds is Karma remix with Ice Spice, the remix version got released alongside 3 new tracks under Til The Dawn edition, is the least streamed one despite the playlisting and music video recorded for it

Move backward, she also failed The Joker & The Queen Remix, depite #1 placement on Today's Top Hits

The song only charted for 4 weeks on Hot 100 and failed to land inside Top 20. It even killed Ed's album momentum

Not only that, Run (from The Vault) from RED TV, End Game, and Everything Has Changed also have lackluster chart performance

The Lover remix with Shawn Mendes she tried to push to boost Lover, in hope that it will get its Perfect Duet moment, also failed.

and it's not the worst thing about Lover era. ME! which is the ONLY lead single when she features another artist, is the blasphemy of her career

It has less streams than most album tracks these days, like Cornelia Street, Daylight, Afterglow, Death by a Thousand Cuts

Her collabs with her besties, HAIM also never work. That Gasoline remix is just one day thing and ppl moved on of it

no body no crime failed to chart inside Country Radio chart too

Bad Blood Remix, despite hitting #1, is not that memorable

The song only gathers 141mil+ from Spotify, even lower than album tracks such as Clean and All You Had To Do Was Stay

and this may be a reach, but exile, a collab with Bon Iver is not also really loved by fandom. It aged pretty bad compared other folklore tracks and has been outstreamed by august

is Taylor collab/remix poison indeed?

1. You sure are naming a lot of non-singles and album tracks here which seems a little odd considering those traditionally don’t have impressive chart runs

2. Not sure where you’re getting exile isn’t loved by the fandom when it remains one of the absolute fan favorites and one of the most streamed songs on the album with over 500 million. Every week people are begging for it to be a surprise song.

IDWLF is literally a smash hit with and still getting 600k+ daily on Spotify

I'm not sure about this too, but I've seen some fans's TikTok ranking it pretty low on their folklore ranks

some fans are also trashing it, saying it's boring Piano ballad

and that's the only time when she SUCCESSFULLY gets a collab hit

Kinda funny how karma remix dropped, was laughed at and then forgotten like 2 days later. Onto the next unnecessary drop

Luckily Karma is doing great :jonnycat:

We got so many streaming and radio hits from Midnights

Exile is one of her best songs from her best album, and she at least has a soundtrack smash with Zayn, but yeah, I think it’s due to her awkward energy / persona that her fans love but doesn’t lend itself well when working with other music artists.

They flop because they're terrible most of the time. She just isn't a remix/collab girl. IDWLF and the Bad Blood remix are the exceptions.

Her collabs are really hit or miss. Rarely in the middle.

Exile, Renegade, Nothing New, The Alcott, IDWLF, The Last Time, evermore for example are stunning. But it's true that the collabs that end up being singles/remixes are often... not really good/borderline terrible.

Well, as far as some of her collab remixes go, she doesn't execute well and most people can tell it's just a cash grab, where it clear that her label sets her up with whoever is popular at the moment ('19 P!ATD and Shawn, '23 Ice Spice).

However, she also has collabs that hold up well because of the sheer quality (Exile, No Body No Crime, Everything Has Changed), I'd say it really doesn't matter if they flop.

With that being said, Bad Blood is the best remix she's put out.

You didn't lie – except for the Bad Blood remix. It elevated the song and it took off as well.

Well, Taylor Swift is an artist who isn't suited for collabs or remixes.

What she actually is poison to is in films. Look at Amsterdam and Cats.

All of her collaborations are commercial disasters so yes, she is the problem.

more of hits or miss, depends on the collaborators

it worked well mostly with male artists (see: IDWLF, exile, evermore, The Last Time, Everything Has Changed, etc)
