the word of mouth on her music goes crazy. it spreads on tiktok to twitter. and unlike other social media buzz, hers translate to irl numbers. so if the song is great, i wouldn’t worry too much on underperforming.

even if it underperforms she can always rush to the second single which is most likely ready considering how long she'd been sitting on this project.

 

I remember "déjà vu" underperforming and everyone calling her a fad in the wake of "driver's licence" insane numbers but the "good 4 u"/"sour" hype/viral release gave the song a new life and remarkable longevity both on streaming and radios after difficult weeks.

HTE are 2 completely different songs combined as one. I don’t think it will be like that. This will probably be like deja vu- started as a ballad, turns to an upbeat songs and ends with the grungy guitars.

I’m surprised there’s people questioning this song’s performance. It’s Olivia Rodrigo. She sells records perfectly fine.
