After Happier Than Ever we should wait and see how the rollout goes. Sometimes the hype doesn’t translate to strong first weeks. But I’m betting on a 400k+ debut if everything goes smoothly

HTE had the worst rollout ever.  If Billie would have dropped the album after TIA or released the title track as a single it would have done much better.  Olivia isn’t going to release a bunch of flops before GUTS

Moreover the way her fanbase turned on her was…. ruthless to say the least. I hadn’t heard of such a strong left turn on likability since Avril went blonde and dropped Girlfriend (and that was still a hit). The album turning out to be solid and the title-track really did wonders. She will return stronger than ever

Happier Than Ever was mishandled by Interscope. They set her up HARD. Including my future was the biggest mistake. Then they drop the least commercial songs with these odd mid-week releases... the era was announced like five months before release as well. Also Your Power wasn't a good single AT ALL! Like half of the album was out before it's release 

 

Not My Responsibility was also a weird and awkward inclusion. The definition of album filler.

Don’t do her like that sis I loved these songs  lol but they did set her up. Title track as the (third) lead and the album out a couple of weeks later and it’d be a completely different situation 

I hope this keeps rising on radio. Imagine if vampire gets like 70M-ish radio audience during album release week.

Honestly they should've gotten rid of a lot of the songs... there is literally no cohesion in Happier Than Ever nor in the singles. They tried so many sounds stylistically but the tracklist flows so awkwardly. Why would she do Bossa Nova and jazzy songs along with random spoken word and quirky sequence songs. Every aspect fell pretty flat. IMO she should've just went with one sound and chased that. I feel like there is a very solid 11 track album hidden in HTE but it wasn't executed properly. 

 

Therefore I Am, Happier Than Ever and Halley's Comet should've been the singles.  

Pretty sure Billie had input on the singles.  Idk wtf she was thinking.  Interscope is hell though making their artist usually release on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

they only let her do that for some cringe reason  i remember her fans being fed up every single release 

the best case scenario for this is to have a deja vu/traitor type of run on spotify from here on out 

 

hopefully radio supports this and it scores a top 10 residency

 

i love that she’s making lots of tiktoks to promote it, she just gets how music promotion works in 2023

 

unfortunately, it’s still not making much noise on tiktok, we need interscope to pay some big creators to start a trend or some rumors of who the song is about

Liv’s back in LA doing promo. She’ll be on Ryan Seacrest in the morning. 

I have a theory (maybe delulu). But the GUTS cover is a gradient, from light purple on the left to dark purple on the right. Both SOUR & GUTS next to each other look like a "puzzle piece" almost. So my theory is that her 3rd album is gonna be her real dark/rock era. SOUR was light. GUTS is gonna be a mix of light & dark. and then OR3 is gonna be dark. It'll be like a little trilogy & the album covers will look like a slay lined up next to each other. Ugh I can only wish
