All of these top 10 that you're bragging about are either frontloaded/have mediocre sales (HIAM, S&M Remix, I Wanna Go, Hold Me Closer). None of these were solid hits, aside from, MAYBE, Till The World Ends. 

 

So that's what I claimed first. Britney's last smash hit was due to a FEATURING.

 

Her residency grossed $137.7 million from 248 dates in 4 years. It is absolutely absurd to think it a success, ESPECIALLY comparing it to one of my fav's residency: Enigma by Gaga that brought up $80M from ONLY 50 shows.

some examples from the top of my head:

 

- J Cole bringing TLC for crooked teeth gave them newfound attention after laying low with the “3D” album in the mid-2000s and so many false starts for a comeback 

 

- Keyshia Cole brought Monica for Trust in 2009 and that anticipated Monica’s success with the Everything to Me era in 2010. She was flopping before that became a hit

 

- The Diddy - Dirty Money album helped Dawn Richard get back to the spotlight and set the tone for her solo career after Danity Kane

 

- The Kids See Ghost album renewed Kid Cudi’s career

 

- Elton John is obviously a legend but rerecording his old material with big names from today or nostalgia is bringing him numbers again

Not really a feature but P!nk landing opening act gig for Justin Timberlake in 2007 certainly saved her career.

These Christina features definitely didn't save her career. Otherwise she would have at least charted on her own. But she actually didn't. Since 2012.
