Features that saved someone's career

Featured Replies

Kim's verse on Unholy singlehandedly catapulted her from never-charted gay club singer with a scrapped album -- to the biggest hit song in the world, performance slots on all the biggest shows, a Grammy win and viral speech, and now a high profile lead single with Nicki Minaj that's shaping up to be another hit.

Is there another example of a feature appearance that completely 180 flipped the artist's career like this?

Scream & Shout was Britney's only smash hit over the last decade. So that one. :deadbanana4:

Xtina on that Maroon 5 song, it was her last hurrah in terms of success. It flipped her career into making songs like Accelerate.

SZA on Rihanna’s “Consideration” ultimately jump started her mainstream commercial career.

Bradley cooper literally revived Gaga’s career with Shallow :giraffe: The way she put out two commercially and critically panned albums back to back prior to that and it was kinda over for her.

It saved nothing

Joanne and Chromatica receiving a 67 and 79 respectively are not critically panned scores.

Charli XCX gave Iggy Azalea a couple of years of relevance with 'Fancy' 2 years after writing another global smash 'I Love It', which was a massive hit for Icona Pop. Just months after 'Fancy' Charli released her own solo smashes 'Boom Clap' and 'Break The Rules'.

She was literally giving careers and hits away left and right.

Joanne literally went #1 and had a #4 peaking single.

Busta Rhymes saved Mariah's career after multiple flops in 2001-2003.

A quadriple platinum HIT followed by an even bigger, Grammy-winning SIX time platinum single. It sure put Xtina's career back on track.

As a Britney stan, I'd be lying too.

this

Gaga was saved by Shallow

i would say Moves Like Jagger or other Xtine's feats but they certainly didn't save her career :deadbanana4:

Yet Your Body peaked at #34 and Lotus peaked at #7 with 74,000. sales in 2012

dont be mad at me, I’m one of the few people who actually bought Lotus. But x’s few seconds in MLJ did nothing for her own career.

How are people saying Shallow when 1. Gaga wrote that song and 2. Bradley can't sing :lmao: + it was Gaga her vocals and writing in that bridge that makes the entire song. Just use ROM if you're trying to troll.

Why do you leave out the positive stats, boo?

Xtina's Say Something was a TOP 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Chart in 2014. Your fav hasn't been able to surpass this sincer 1999.

We are talking about songs that saved a career. Lol.

Say Something was a mega hit, I agree. But that didn’t save Christina’s career either.
