Do you have synesthesia?

Synesthesia: associations from sound activate images, memories, and emotions

Do you "see" music as images or colors?

Or automatically "experience" music as certain feelings or temperatures, etc.?

Pretty much all artists have this illness.

Lorde does, and Solar Power was a masterpiece. :clap3: The post above this is wrong.

Yeah no.

Most of the ******* are lying for attention.

The rest have schizophrenia.

I think I've had a form of this my whole life, and just realized it earlier this week.

Sometimes when I see a person sustain an accidental injury, like stepping on glass, or getting a papercut, I have a physical tingling sensation in the same part of my body. It doesn't happen every time, but enough times over my life that I recognize it as a "thing."

Everybody can do that though. Like for example associating a song with colors and "moods"

I mean I see some pics in my mind when I’m hearing music but idk

Is there an online test for this? Or can it be explained a little bit more? The description in OP sounds like basic color study :katie:

well i experience bouts of nausea and cold sweats whenever i hear a Kim Petras song. does that count?

yes  I thought it was normal

It’s very real, sure some people make it up for attention but some don’t.

As for the “anyone can do it” point — the difference is for synesthetes it’s more involuntary. For example, if you play a song and ask what color it most people who take a second to think and know but synesthetes involuntary know. It’s hard to explain but there’s just a natural association.

They actually call that Chromesthetia, or matching sounds with colors. I do this to all my favorite albums, some are easier to match than others. For ex: Visions by Grimes is a swirl of green and purple with black for me. The experience is amplified when high as well.

There’s also time and space synesthesia where when thinking of the calendar year, you can envision the dates in front of you (yes, envision not see an imaginary image physically). For instance, January will be to the bottom left of me, then every month will move up in a semi circle shape, where the top is July (middle of the year) and then it comes back down. I know it sounds crazy but it’s true.
