MHWGO has underwhelming streams?

Featured Replies

It only received around 220k streams on Spotify yesterday.

Is that a little bit underwhelming for the biggest song of all time?

Why people are expecting songs from 60’s 70s 80s and 90s have the same numbers as current songs ?

Everyone bought CD Single and soundtrack there is no need for streaming at the same level

No promo

No Titanic anniversary

and Celine is still alive

And still bigger, more known, and more iconic than all of our faves songs

It has 400m+ streams and it’s from 20+ years ago. Like bffr

regardless of any stats it will forever remain one of the most famous songs ever

Don't start beef with Celine now.

Well, it's just an interesting case IMO.

ATRL is obsessed with streams as the only viable metric - so what do the same members have to say about such a well-known song having "underwhelming" numbers? :giraffe:

i will not allow this site to drag Celine, she is quite literally the least problematic girl.

It's actually among the top 15 most streamed female tracks of the 90s ..

1. All I Want for Christmas Is You (Mariah Carey): 1.440B streams

2. Zombie (The Cranberries): 876M

3. Wannabe (Spice Girls): 847M

4. No Scrubs (TLC): 786M

5. What's Up? (4 Non-Blondes): 728M

6. Say My Name (Destiny's Child): 655M

7. Baby One More Time (Britney Spears): 600M

8. Torn (Natalie Imbruglia): 583M

9. I Will Always Love You (Whitney Houston): 552M

10. Kiss Me (Sixpence): 545M

11. Don't Speak (No Doubt): 542M

12. Killing Me Softly With This Song (Fugees): 528M

13. Believe (Cher): 452M

14. Linger (The Cranberries): 446M

15. My Heart Will Go On (Celine Dion): 438M

16. Man I Feel Like a Woman! (Shania Twain): 412M

Interesting that a certain someone doesn't make the list

I've been told that other songs with worse daily streams and overall streams are undeniable multi-generational global classics so no.

Oh wow

No, it's streams are great. :rip:

Stans underestimate the fact people are not always in the mood to listen to a dramatic 90s ballad song, which also explains why Whitney's I Will Always Love You is so behind I Wanna Dance with Somebody on Spotify, despite the former being arguably the most well-known female song of all time.

Did I say MHWGO is not a classic? :bird: breath! seems like you’re anxiously reading into things.

Everyone was streaming It's All Coming Back to Me Now instead.

I'm actually surprised the song is receiving so many streams. Awful song.

I guess it has to do with playlisting and that it's a ballad from 25 years ago.

Still ignoring Rain, Take a Bow, and The Power of Goodbye unfortunately.
