Most chart obsessed artists?

Featured Replies

Obviously almost all mainstream artists crave chart success but there’s some artist who shamelessly go above and beyond to achieve it. Can you name some of these artists?

here’s a few of the main ones (imo)

Ed Sheeran - his weird obsession with trying to surpass Adele and even admitting he makes music for chart success :toofunny3:

Taylor - always has been but those countless remixes she did to block Drake and shamelessly selling 30 sec voice memos to block SZA when’s she’s already the biggest artist in America is just :deadbanana4:

The Weeknd has completely abandoned his alt-R&B roots to become a chart crazed Popstar. Everyday he’s quoting and posting meaningless chart achievements :rip:

Everyone, or at least 80% of the mainstream artists is charted obsessed. Just check out how many remixes and versions that Kill Bill and Unholy have released :rip: Those 100 videos of LMU and radio payola :rip:Even Miley start to release alternative versions of Flowers. You guys just too focus on certain artists

It's always odd to me when ATRL pretends only Taylor releases a bunch of remixes/multiple versions of albums when it's been a common practice for years :rip: Just take Flowers and Endless Summer Vacation. The album has 3 vinyl variants, 2 box set editions, the song has 3 versions and an alternate digital cover up for sale. Yet no one cares n.

Taylor and the weekend immediately come to mind. Not a bad thing really

I feel like pushing a song once or twice is regular industry procedure. But doing it countless of times consistently over the years does reek of numbers obsession. I assume these artists and their teams have to track how not only their songs but those of others as well are doing and make adjustments to maintain or gain positions. It's kind of weird when you think that there are certain artists who do it for months on end. But at least they are gaining something from it I guess

I think everyone cares to an extent, but some over do it like. hihi.thumb.gif.cba8a8e590c68a6c1ed9f610e

Gaga, Mariah and TS.

Yeah thats why she released Jazz Cover album TWICE :toofunny2: a genre that not even her fans and majority of people listen to it.

OT: taylor hihi

Do y'all fail at your jobs on purpose or what? Like imagine still thinking that striving to be a successful artist is somehow drag worthy and deserved to be shamed. Ur faves try the same way but they're flops so no one cares.

The two albums she recorded with Jazz legend Tony Bennett, you mean?

Meanwhile, let's just ignore the times she discounted her albums and singles and went on twitter to give instructions on how to manipulate/ inflate the number of streams and even tweeted links for fans to loop Applause for 9 hours, to the point where BB boss, Bill Werde called her out on her BS. She even announced a contest where the fans who bought the most copies of her new single would win a trip to London’s iTunes Festival to meet her lmao.. This is also the same woman who purchased multiple copies of Born This Way, Artpop and Joanne, and even whined when Katy Perry beat her to #1, but according to you she isn't chart obsessed.  :rip:

Justin Bieber and Gaga clearly. Noone else reached their level of desperation. It was embarassing to watch.

BTS, Taylor, Beyonce and Nicki. But I don't think it is a bad thing to be chart obsessed?
