Are Cardi B's recurrent streams a bit concerning?

Featured Replies

This was posted on a Saturday, before Nielsen finalized the past week numbers, so this is one week old.

Averaging out the past 43 weeks, that would mean the next 9 weeks would finalize to roughly a Year End Total of

US

Lizzo - 1.15B

Cardi B - 1 Billion

H.E.R - 900 Million

Lizzo released a album last year also so...

Comparing to other rappers though, she was behind Roddy Ricch, Megan Thee Stallion, King Von & Da Baby etc catalogue in total streams

Streams in the US last year

it’s not that concerning considering she has 1 album that’s 5 years old

the same reason why bodak yellow's recurrent streams are abysmal

If you're referring to Spotify, it looks like 55 - 60% of its #s came from the US at its peak so maybe not abysmal but very underwhelming. If it's doing 170k daily globally, around like 100k would be from US

Probably getting like 1.6 - 1.8 million weekly in the US from all platforms.

A huge classic or signature from 6 years ago should be doing at least 3 million weekly

I think Up is the only song that has tragic recurrent streams. Never expected any of her following singles to carry, but Up felt huge at the time.

I was talking about US streams in general, not Spotify Global

Bodak is doing 1.2 million weekly on Spotify Global

But LMLYD is more global so not surprising

1.2M weekly is still pretty impressive, i thot its daily streams would be way worse.

yes, it’s already mentioned in this thread but those daily streams are way too low for a diamond certified song like bodak yellow :rip:

ILI and GLY too should be doing at least 400k considering how well they did on the charts

She only had one song charting in Apple Music Hip Hop Top 200 besides Tomorrow 2 at the beginning of this month which had reentered. She had 0 in January

She still only has one album that is 5 years old. I think it’s fair to take that into consideration irrespective of her features or standalone singles.

She isn’t Rihanna, a hitmaking behemoth with multiple classics that can coast on high recurrent streams despite no album release in 7 years.

PS. Was “Tomorrow 2” ever really that good on streams outside of YT?

All I learned from this is that H.E.R is a bigger streaming force than I thought, Cardi and Lizzo's numbers are fine.

Not HER the hitless songtress being that close to Cardi with multi diamond singles

tomorrow 2 did really well on apple music but yea it kinda tanked on spotify. it's normal for r&b/hip-hop releases just like latto's big energy

But ATRL told me the GP cant name a single song:redface:

The only explanation must be paying millions of dollars in streaming farms:redface:
