No, they'll never be "over", they are the only prestigious music award ceremony, a Billboard or VMA award doesn't hold the same kind of importance.

Your comment makes no sense. They're going against the whole music industry. It's not fan base pandering if all critics are praising a specific album. Grammy is just a joke at this point, if you make a good campaign to get votes.

It certainly lost its prestige and is in urgent need of a reform because it gets messier each year. But at the end of the day its always gonna be the most important music award. 
 

Like today it had Viola ******* Davis attending to collect an award and achieve EGOT status.
