IP address and device information are kept for a few years (i will check for you) and will show this information belonged to an account that has since been deleted but won’t reveal the name. 

and remember, nothing happened on January 12, 2023.

It goes without saying, but if anyone is (rightfully) feeling uneasy about their cybersecurity, create a random burner email that has no identifying information to use online or use the Apple “Hide My Email” feature to automatically forward your mail from alt addresses to your real one.

As someone who’s had their email, PayPal and iCloud (!) hacked before, it’s good practice in general across all of the internet. I’ll definitely be updating my ATRL address now too, as you all should. If anything, I hope this - as awful as it is - serves as a reminder for some of us to get back on top of protecting ourselves online.

Well seeing as email addresses often contain personal information like date of birth and full names it is that serious actually. Data breaches are very serious and they've broken the law
