This album... I genuinely just couldn't feel a soul... or a pulse. and its even worse when you know both parts of Life After Love and Jaguar clear this so ******* badly... how is this the same woman who made New Love? Love U Better? Experience? Coastin? Good Bye? When You Say You Love Me? Ass Like That? MOMENT? It's like all of her eccentricity and sticky melodies got sucked into a vacuum and were locked away for this project. I'm genuinely sad that I didn't enjoy this outside of 2-3 tracks (Juicy, Maybe, Reach Out) but I'm not going to sit up here and pretend like I would come back to this when this might be the most nothingburger album of the year. I gotta give it to her though, she really set the bar high for me to be this pissed lol! Additionally, whoever got Ms. Monét fcked up to the point that she feels like she needs to commit to the overly processed vocals has got to go! I hope she finds her whimsy and joy again because despite the talent, the fun and enjoyment doesn't sound like its there anymore and that takes a lot out of it for me.

Of course I could link hundreds of her performances as good examples but holy shjt I just saw this clip from last night's stop on her tour and knew I had to make this thread. Not sure what it says about the current state of the music industry (you know I do), but if she's able to outperform the entire industry with a single dance break, that talent speaks for itself. Can we please talk about the theatrics, the technicality, the concept of her getting pumped up as a sex doll... WHO'S DOING IT LIKE HER? I would love to know!

Thank GOD she knows success is always fleeting and its better to follow your internal instincts instead.
