Ikr :chick3: they make me so nostalgic and made great music! Gonchan is a cutie. Jinyoung was always my fave :gaycat2:

I'm pretty sure only 3 members are left: Gonchan, Sandeul and CNU. Baro and Jinyoung both left the label, Jinyoung is an actor/composer now, not sure about Baro tho. They still post on their group insta a lot and also put out a song last about a year and half ago

They all seem to be on good terms with each other so they might reunite for an anniversary sometime in the future I'm sure! :whistle2:

When they renewed their contracts Baro And Jinyoung left the label but didn't left the group. Their letters to the fans was saying they would still hope for a full group promotions then WM posted that the group would be reorganized as trio and hoping for a reunion in the future.

Baro shaded WM in the past, now he is going as Cha Sun Woo his real name and has 2 Movies to be released this year and is in Reborn Rich Drama and also played in the Theater play Othello this year.

Oh, I didn't know that. Well I hope it works out in the future for them to do something and I'm glad he's got stuff going on, I hadn't heard of him in a long time so it must be the name change. I always revisit their music from time to time, always puts me in a good mood :katie2:

I slightly disagree with this. Almost everything is niche these days, even the biggest acts. SZA is breaking Taylor & Adele's records but she is still niches. Bad Bunny's the #1 artist globally but he's still niches. Your average Jane and Joes wouldn't know who they are or even name one song from them. BTS & BP fall into the same category, and they haven't reached the true mainstream yet. The only "mainstream" Kpop act was  Psy with Gangnam Style, and I do think NewJeans 4th gen acts have the potential to become mainstream.

Dynamite has 1.6B streams. BTS will gain over 5 billion streams this year without a cb.
BTS is one of the biggest acts right now and their impact goes beyond kpop. What’s the obsession with the random downplay every time.

BP despite not having the biggest hits, are always mentioned by the biggest pop stars in the planet. And lets not even talk about their individual popularity.
SZA and Bad Bunny are extremely massive, they would’ve never reached these stats if they were a niche.
You just say that because, because you expect only white pop singers to be “massive”
also In what world NJ will file that niche because Rina danced to OMG. :rip:

now tell me why somebody thought "DRIPPIN" was a good name for a boy group

not yall falling for miss century's baits once again :rip:

also, only on ktrl the girls would gag when your faves go to fashion weeks but dismiss Jisoo's legendary Vogue France cover :toofunny3:

they’d be like: omg my fave got that gig of being the face of the cosmetic brand/korean fast food that’s hardly available anywhere outside Korea, a huge deal! slay! get that bag! booked and busy!

Jisoo is the main Dior face and graces one of the biggest magazines in the world, available around the globe: you’re really happy with that? that’s barely anything, hardly an achievement

also aespa was supposed to be the face of the sustainability and then they are selling NFTs and artificial clothes for 2k €

Nfts was the hope of keeping the independent music industry sustainable.  But instead we get mergers and acquisitions instead.

yeah, that’s what I mentioned

they put those ae outfits on sale too :rip:

I finally got myself Savage Synk Dive a couple of days ago and the way those photos are edited :rip: they are supposed to be the tech group yet the execution of their concept screams cheap - same goes for their avatars

SM should use those SMCU money for aespa’s content and comebacks instead

Let's be honest, a lot of those brands where our faves are being ambassador are just using the kpop money how they can. A lots of them have racist past and when I say past is around 3 years ago not 10 or 20.

I mean Bernard Arnault head of LVMH had racial profiling policy up until 2017.

Slightly off/on topic

who was the girl I was arguing with the other day and said X-Tina can’t sing anymore and that Ailee, Hyolyn, etc sit over her

umm….this video was from 2 nights ago and Xtina’s vocals are in top top shape, sounding immaculate, inventing new riffs and runs. This girls could NEVER sit with her!

I can see some people are already questioning the use of the word “Niche”. But niche or not, you cannot tell me that BTS or BP or even the biggest popstars in the streaming age today are as universal or multigenerational in terms of mainstream recognition compared to those up until early/mid 2010s. Nobody is downplaying their achievements, just be realistic for once :rip:

sm is SO lost when it comes to aespa :rip:

when will they realize literally no one cares about nfts, kwangya, or the metaverse concept that makes them so unrelatable and tryhard

compared to snsd, rv, and fx, sm is trying to make aespa as manufactured as possible
