I doubt it'll go anywhere tho, there'll probably be more random clout chaser groups but the jpop music industry in general is still very... conservative (?) with exporting their stuff

kpop fans thinking this is a nonsense payola going on but this really is based on your own algorithm though  so if omg is showing up its cause you listen to it/them a lot. the most popular kpop song playing while you listen to kpop is not shocking

Manga/Anime for sure, I'd be surprised if kpop ever reaches that level, mostly because music is way harder to truly globalize than visual media 

The NewJeans stages of yesterday that people were saying it's live technically aren't, right? They look like they were recorded at least two times. Like, in the Ditto one in the close shots you can see the cameraman's shadow in the girls in the close shots but the next shot from far away shows no camera close to them.

Shooting Star is amazing  that chorus has sooo much replay value! such a vibe, I kinda wish they would release it in the summer instead, perfect for chill evenings

you can clearly hear how some of them struggle during some parts 

Hanni and Hyein are hidden gems of the group, that’s for sure, can’t wait what they will show in the future, especially Hyein, since she’s such a kiddo 

also, a lot of people in this thread mention how Minji is the weakest link in the group but objectively I would put her on the 3rd or 4th place - that’s between her and Danielle - she was impressively stable during both performances

Hearin is amazing dancer but she has definitely some work to do in the live singing while dancing department
