Something is being lost in translation.  The statement the company made was about what could happen in the presence of these external forces, not what had happened.  The part about "return as soon as possible" stems from all the girls being given time off in the Aran post-surgical waiting game.  Maybe.

 

And there's pretty solid speculation that the external forces are really external -- not Korean.  And there's also agreement that currently the only member of the group that would make sense to snatch away right now is Aran -- whose potential ROI as the next Ahn Jiyong (or maybe even the next singer to be hated by Yena) is there.  If the surgery was successful.

I feel like they would only debut an idol with a singer-songwriter image like IU or Taylor. Maybe for that to happen idol groups would have to go out of style for a while or soloists prove themselves to be really profitable somehow but that's probably never going to happen.
