No idea about their comeback since SM are a mess now. Nonetheless we're getting fed in the next 3 months with LSFM/Aespa/Gidle/Enhypen/BoysNextDoor in May, Stray Kids in June, and NJ/ZB1 in July.

all we need is a blackpink comeback imagine lol

The fact that SM understands that people only tolerate the Kwangya stuff enough to bait and switch us twice is a promising sign that they'll eventually commit to dropping it. Red Velvet(Red / Velvet concept dichotomy) and EXO(Split group/promotions + rotating supernatural powers) are also groups that had very rigid concepts that were dropped after they were proven to be more harm than good.

What scares me though is that SM has invested a LOT more resources into this group concept than those others and NCT proved how far they're willing to take a bad idea to save face(they literally almost ruined NCT Dream, their only hope of staying relevant before aespa debuted, just to commit to LSM's vision).

Most of aespa's output has been done by western writers btw, just not big names. They should have booked sessions with Charli 3 years ago. Everything they do is literally dripping with her influence and she can't be that expensive compared to Dem Jointz who SM works with all the time. He literally produces for Rihanna and Kanye. The Welcome To My Island (George Daniel & Charli XCX Remix) songstress must be easier to book.:bibliahh:

Yeah that fanwar was started by Blinks who were terrified when it was revealed SM would be debuting a 4 member girl group that does dance music. It was the first time the 2 companies have directly competed in such a similar space. Just off of the count of members they were already screeching about plagiarism and copycats. They were writing racist conspiracy theories about how Ningning's facial structure was faked to copy a Black Pink member and trying to spread fake screenshots of Karina trashing huge male idols. It was the messiest group rollout I've witnessed since EXO. :worship:

End of the day they both ABG'd groups who make noise for gay ppl so I can't imagine they'd have any real issues. I was more talking about a rivalry emerging between the companies. Idols are usually too supervised to engage in any beef.

exactly songs like up n down and round n round which charli herself said were just demos she can easily sell and pass onto aespa to officially release. MNEK wrote HOLD ON TIGHT and is an impeccable writer and producer. He is someone SM needs to have in their pocket to make songs for these girls because his penmanship's and artistry is to die for and whatever he laced on HOT was the perfect transition to cement that AESPA has what it takes to cross over into English markets. yeah in the zach sang interview i saw karina and ningning say that they got alot of hate when they first debuted. so sad that it really affected and took a toll on them

Definetely, im not speaking for other mys in atrl but i have this telegram group full of local indonesian mys and they are mostly are og snsd fan and we love kwangya lore and concept, its what set them up apart from other ggs, its actually what set sm apart from other company.

SM is known for its unique concept since mhj still part of sm she and lsm always had crazy idea that to some people might seem bizzare but somehow worked out.

Red velvet is in a very in similar situation with their concept for example,  and reveluvs are loving the red and velvet side of them as their brand identity and concept.

I know most of mys here wouldnt give afk about kwangya as long as they are fed with great musics but they are also mys out there who are also excited about the lore and concept and being crazily hyped with what will aespa serves in every comeback..

no trust me i get it. i just rather the lore stay lyrically and as concept for the music videos. the whole side fanservice thing and then naevis potentially debuting as a real thing is just a lost cause and lost on me because it's all excess and necessary then the focus isn't on the music which as a fan of the aespa girls infuriates me. the storyline lore and music should work together but the metaverse is starting to what seems like overtake the music and their brand and could cost them in the long run is what my worry is all

Society failed 2NE1. :weeps:

literally i got into them because CL was being promoted everywhere as like the next big thing and Emma Stone referenced them in an interview. They were my introduction into KPOP then I got into Boa, Hyuna and Hyori Lee and it's been a journey since then

Despite the pre-order #s I think Born Pink's wig is safe from Aespa.

SPIY or SALTY AND SWEET or whoever is the lucky kpop girl group working with SHAKIRA btw do we know who it is because people thought that it would be LESSARAFIRM but it's not so our best bet is either AESPA or BLACKPINK correct

Honestly don't stfum

There's always a shitshow in this thread even when groups are not having comebacks so if you are not ready for the mess and meltdowns this thread is not for you.

Is just kpop don't take everything too seriously because at the end of the day all the girls are getting their won and are being successful girls :bird:

Anyways taeyeon for sure is also coming pretty soon probably after aespa :giraffe:

It's a testament to their Japanese popularity that other groups have made official Japan debuts and not really had any impact, whereas aespa has swooped in without a single song in Japanese and booked the Tokyo Dome :clap3:

I'm excited to see them get pushed more in Japan because they have huge potential

I know I’ve mentioned it before but I’m still not over Giselles visuals in the recent teaser. Looking glowy, healthy, and ready to serve the best summer concept. aespa is truly the group without any vocal or visual holes.
