literally no one is blaming the other girls. we're saying their entire brand is fake, performative feminism, and that's not their fault, just like how they're not individually responsible for the choreo, image, styling, music, etc. that everyone stans because everything is thanks to the company :coffee:

HYBE has been extremely transparent about the branding and formation of LE SSERAFIM, down to explaining why they picked each member :deadbanana4: when has anyone claimed otherwise? How does Yunjin singing a song about haters and perseverance and whatever contradict any of this? Because they didn’t pull a LOONA over some girl who may or may not have been a bully that they’d known for like 3 months?

there's a difference between being fearless or whatever lsfm concept is & being stupid

garam was a lost cause. she had to go

Her message is against the haters who always criticize the idols. Fine. But what about her company and idols companies who are also very much to blame ?

No one said that the girls should be blamed. But how can you sing everyday about how your antifragile, fearless etccc but can’t even talk about something that impacted your career?

Their messages and concept are just performatives. They’re not even the one who came with this concept, Source music pitched them and they had they just followed.

Their music still slaps, but Yunjin comments were just insincere

Like… I do see the irony of Fearless ala HYBE afraid of netizen wrath and pulling the plug on Garam but Antifragile? If anything I feel like it applies even better post-scandal and re-establishing themselves as a 5 member group (and smashing)

Kpop is performative. Companies plan concepts and comebacks. Shocking.

y'all really expected them to address Garam? :skull:

idols don't even write their own lyrics 95% of the time

They literally edited Garam of every angles of their documentary, even reshoot some scenes and acted like LSRFM was always a 5 girls gg :deadbanana4:? How it’s transparent :dies: ???

that’s what I said, Source music and Yunjin are being performative, but apparently some people are disagreeing

also it’s more than just planing concepts and comebacks they also work on these idol whole image and gimmick

Its crazy of Yunjin is carrying the group at this point. (to me) she managed to exceed high standards of Chaewon and Sakura who I thought would never be outshined (solo/iz*one stans). And I'm very much glad that HYBE is pushing her to the extreme limits because you can tell this is truly her gig. :clap3:

I meant Garam aside, they were transparent about why they were picked and what image they were going for with the girls. Nobody claimed that they were in charge of their own concept or lineup like some of you keep saying. HYBE explicitly stated what all their roles were.

Yunjin can influence the idol industry for the better without fighting to clear Garam’s name. Shouldn’t all idols strive for that? I don’t see why she has to address old controversies for her intentions to be seen as genuine.

Eunchae missed her playdate with other kids, just to practice and become an idol

This sent me :bibliahh:

speaking of Garam I really wonder how LSRFM girls experienced it all because judging by media they seemed to have got over it straight away (it might be just for the image though)

Maybe we'll find out in a few years once they are no longer rookies and become more fearless (ironic isn't it)

who is blaming the members themselves for their image?

You keep insisting that the group and concept about empowerment is “performative” and “made by the label” as some kind of gotcha, I am simply stating that literally no one has said otherwise and this is kpop and no one should care about that :deadbanana4:

That that fact detracts from their identity and concept at all when it actually does not. im glad we agree too!

Saw this on twitter and thought we were gonna get a comeback (turns out its just one of the members birthday?) :gaycat7:

Once again no one asked Yujin to fight to clear Garam name. First of all, I said that her song was performative bc she’s calling the haters but don’t mention the one who’s also part of the problem: the Kpop companies like Hybe. Who are the one who keep pushing these industry standards.

Secondly, I talked about her comment about how she wanted to change the idol industry, fine then start with your own group. Be transparent, explain how u  experienced it all, why did your company deleted every scenes of Garam on your documentary, why did you reshoot some scenes, why are u acting like she never existed and you weren’t a group of 6 members?

If you’re not capable to do that, then don’t say that you want to change the idol industry bc clearly you don’t have the guts to do it, which is also fine since no one asked you to change anything.

you realise they debuted like less then a year ago? just because she said that doesnt mean she has to **** over her record company immediately :deadbanana2: she still has a contract and they clearly arent allowed to talk about it

Honestly you need to switch a music genre because this is what k-pop, 90% manufactured.

And why are the girls supposed to fight for Garam when it's a fact that she got a high-level bullying punishment and even her own mother didn't defend her at that time? Just because Garam's 'friend' came out with a statement defending her after she got kicked out doesn't mean Garam is innocent and the statement was true. It's another collective fan dementia case like with Soojin 'Soojin is innocent because her lawyer came out with a statement she is innocent' when in fact the police ruled there was no defamation from her victims

Garam was radiating mean and negative energy I am really glad she left tbh after her I felt much more connection to the members and the whole group.

First of all, the “I want to change the idol industry” clip was filmed and released pre debut, not during the documentary. I didn’t know predicting and saving a band mate from a bullying scandal was a prerequisite for saying something like that.

Andy why are you trying to tell us what Yunjin should be making music about? It’s not like singing about netizen hate detracts from the company’s responsibilities. I mean damn become an investigative kpop reporter and find out yourself cause you sure as hell are not getting that info from an existing member’s own music that she did all by herself.

2 minutes ago, Dark Horse said:

no one actually expects the members to fight for garam. this is kpop, everything is corporate, by contract and manufactured.

we're just calling out their concept as fake and hypocritical :dies:

yunjin's song is definitely insincere and the message is an insult to the average kpop fans intelligence

How is you calling Yunjin’s music insincere for not fighting for Garam not doing exactly that, expecting her to fight for Garam :deadbanana2:

Why does her singing about her experience have to address Garam? Garam’s journey is not hers. Literally it’s just an inoffensive song about there being more to idols beyond the surface level and dunking on online haters. You can’t explain how that is related to Garam in any way. It has nothing to do with her. :skull:
