The album and this sound in particular is very tired, but the album has only been out for less than 2 years. What went wrong?

i mean tbf it’s almost entirely generic ballads so i think it’s pretty timeless

 

i think it was just so overplayed when it came out that it got tired quickly tho so she better hurry her ass up and release or2

I think the reason behind this 

 

She actually made a pretty good album , but everyone could see the influences so easily that it didn't help in the end.

 

I think this is great for first try tho. She is outsider so she didn't have mentor or anyone. She has long career ahead.

The monotonous topics and the lack of something fresh or unique to begin with… this album was destined to not be timeless but being successful just like a lot of huge albums like The Fame, Animal, Baby One More Time to name a few

this might be it. maybe if we received more Jealousy jealousy’s instead…

Ahead of other 20’s decade releases such as Planet HER, Future Nostalgia etc. oh wow

You said it aged poorly and I showed how it is actually aging. I think that was the topic.

Because it’s inspired by an artist who really makes bland terrible music 

That album expired the day it came out. I initially couldn’t get through the entire thing because I knew it’d be bland. It isn’t a terrible album, but to me, there isn’t anything special about it. I think Olivia has a lot more time to grow and figure out the type of artist that wants to be and I’m looking forward to her next era.

Only 11 tracks and outstreaming recent blockbusters like "Planet Her", "WWAFA,WDWG?"/"Happier Than Ever", "thank u, next"/"positions", and "Future Nostalgia" (I'm a bit doubtful about this one being below, especially counting the "Moonlight Edition", so further confirmation would be appreciated).

 

It might have aged poorly to your standards, but it clearly doesn't apply to the rest of the world, who's still streaming it plenty to this day.

She served MELODIES. Songs with great melodies don't age.

The album was a rehash of the kind of sound artists had already done 10-15 years ago with no new twist. It wasn't fresh on arrival, so it's not surprising.

It didn't for me, still sounds great 

 

so.. what is the truth? 

I don’t think it was ever good to begin with but drivers license, traitor and deja vu are pretty timeless 

It was never excellent to begin with. Just a cute little effort from a new artist. 

it hasn’t aged badly, it’s just not a great album

5.7M streams for Sour yesterday (12/26) and 4.8M streams for Future Nostalgia, who is the 4th most streamed female album right now.

I don't think it's aging that bad, it's just that its hype has completely dried out and people start to realize that the album wasn't all that to begin with.

It was never great, it’s mostly just a bunch of sappy ballads
