Both were released as the lead singles of their 2004 eras Destiny Fulfilled (Destiny's Child) and Concrete Rose (Ashanti).

Both peaked at #2 in the UK and became their biggest singles on Billboard's European Hot 100 with "Lose My Breath" being a 4 week #1 and Only U peaking at #4.

But which one do you prefer?

I’m sorry Bey but Ashanti snatches this one. In fact Ashanti music would snatch a lot of Bey solo music but y’all aren’t ready for that conversation.

Just because she’s not popular she’s slept on.

@Lose My Breath

lose my breath has the replay value but only u sounds fresher

I love DC but Only u by far

Destiny fullfilled was really bad compared to Survivor and especially TWOTW

Only U, those guitars and the sway that song has over me. However Rain On Me demolishes Only U, and is Ashanti's best song.

Lose My Breath

Of course

LMB

I loooooooooove Only U but Lose My Breath's drums are something else entirely...

Video-wise and sonically, it looks like I'm voting between Beyonce and Beyonce.... so Beyonce. That post CIL-influence is real and sent shockwaves through the R&B visuals world.   Bone-straight light-brown tresses, heavier hip-hop beats, a lil' daisy-duked booty-shake here and there, and attempts at choreography/hairography through slow-mo.

Love Only U but Lose My Breath is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums.

Only u

lose my breath is a gem tho.

LMB.

Only U

Both slap. Though Only U's genres mixing is still so fresh. The guitars slay.

Should have been another #1 for Ashanti.

Both are 2004 highlights, but I think I use Lose My Breath a bit more

Both are great Only U has a certain feel that really hooks you in, but still LMB gets more play from me. Both phenomenal but LMB had my favorite vocal run from Kelly so i went with LMB.

Lose My Breath

Beyoncé should have snatched Only U

This aged horribly. Bless Ashanti though, I hope she has some success now.
