J Balvin was sort of the first HUGE Latino reggeaton artist to go global in the last few years even before “despacito” he had a huge global song with “Mi Gente” even getting Beyoncé to jump on the remix.

it felt like he would be the next big Latino star. He was getting invited to fashion shows, hanging out with Pharrell etc.

 

- he released an album with bad bunny which at the time wasn’t as big as jbalvin

- he was exposed as a racist during the BLM movement. And as a sexist when he said Rihanna was the type you have sex with and not the type you marry.

- Residente released a LETHAL diss track that exposed him as the racist, corny, manipulative, sexist pig that he is. 
 -he had to cancel his US tour this year after the residente/Bizarrap diss none of the arenas were selling enough tickets to kick out the US tour meanwhile Bad Bunny was selling out huge stadiums all over the US.

he never truly recovered from the Bizarrap diss. Nowadays he feels so washed up and the big Latin stars are Bad Bunny, karol G, Rauw Alejandro but j Balvin doesn’t feel like a part of that group.

Residente ended him literally. The reasons that you listed are all correct, but Rene is his career 13th reason. Even just with the first statements Residente made was enough to expose him, the bizarrap was just an overkill. One of the few times a "tiradera" actually harms one of the parts careers.

He had been flopping for a while. Con Altura, RITMO and Contra La Pared were huge in 2019 obviously, and he had the Super Bowl in 2020, but it has all been flopping since then. The GP could only take his mediocre classist a** for so long 

 

PS. Not even the Ed Sheeran collabs could save him this year (and we know how well he did for Camila )

vibrass was his last hurrah and what a hurrah it was  

even ozuna struggle for so long after exposed video and comeback with shakira on love him again moment now, meanwhile 2 ed sheeran songs couldnt help his career at all. he got one card left to play but i dont think it's going to happen though.

It’s a combination of many things, including:

-The controversy and backlash about the racist and misogynistic video he did for the song “Perra”

-The quality of his music declining, his past two albums weren’t well received

-His beef with Residente 

-The diss track Residente did, this basically ended him 

yeah everything everyone else said but when the locals on my social media were all sharing residente’s first “hot dog stand” comments (even before the bizarrap track that went all the way in), i knew it was over for him.

His album vibras is really good. She showed he can deliver quelite music so i still trust he can do good music again
