What exactly is she doing that’s “chart manipulation”? Releasing multiple remixes? News flash, remixes have been around for decades. There’s not even such thing as chart manipulation because at the end of the day, you still need demand to be able to chart. You’re acting like she had no one listening to her music and she physically went and plugged headphones into every single person’s ear.

Like, Gaga, Dua, and Rihanna have whole ass remix ALBUMS that you can find on their Spotify page  (Which is a GOOD thing. Remixes are FUN.) But for some reason it’s desperate when Taylor does it’s a couple times.

Remixes are just a different versions of a song. It helps them to reach different audience and let them enjoy and appreciate the song if the original is not of their taste.

 

It's like songs recorded in different languages. See Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend.

 

They can also cross into different genres. There were ballads on Billboard's Dance chart because of remixes. See JLo's JLo album singles crossover into Hip-Hop & R&B in the early 2000's. Also Lykke Li's I Follow Rivers was remixed and became France's all time #1 single

Clock them! Why are people interrogating the integrity of remixes when Taylor does it??? It's a completely fair way to increase chart performance, otherwise Billboard would amend their rules to avoid the usage of remixes for that purpose.

 

 

Also, Taylor got called lazy and boring during Evermore & Taylor's Version re-recording eras for abandoning the era 1 week after the release. Now that she's doing something fun, people still complain.
