She's had a successful solo tour, opening for Coldplay and now supposed play Belle for the 30th anniversary of Beauty and the Beast

 

Where does she go musically from here for her next project to not suffer another decline for her 3rd era?

or maybe a rock inspired album or something more like Hold On because when she's doing a concert her appeal feels more like a rock star than R&B singer yet she has no rock songs and perform songs like We Going Crazy and Slide  it could help her build bigger fanbase as well

She will receive plenty of nominations for songs that nearly no-one's heard of that's for sure

Two ideal options:

 

(A) Go early-00s crossover R&B visually and sonically. Think Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, DC, and Monica. I could actually see something like "He Wasn't Man Enough" being perfect for her as the lead, and a follow-up like Monica's "Angel of Mine" or DC "She Can't Love You". 

 

 

(B) Grown R&B meets Blues/Jazz/Disco concept album.

Call it "Night at The Cotton Club" or something like that. Think Whitney Houston's "Million Dollar Bill" video in terms of the overall vibe.

Something like this record (sonically) below would actually be a perfect opening track with her on a stage in one of those old jazz clubs playing a bunch of the instruments in the video:
