What she should do is return to pop rock like her fans been begging for years but she won't so she should just retire

Not country, but she should consider a different sound.

She doesn't have the pipe for country. Or any genre really. But especially country and other vocal reliant songs. She succeed in pop cos of those gimmicky props, not vocals.

She should just release a new album full of good basic pop bops, which is what she's best at.

Her vocals nowadays are so good so that’s not true. And I mean Taylor or Dolly Parton aren’t exactly known for their vocals!

A rock pop album like her debut would be the best move and sell it like a “return to her roots”.

 

A trip hop album could be good tbh tho obviously she will flop but it would be interesting to see her doing that kind of style

While I would love that idea itself I fear her label would try to make it something too mainstream and something Olivia Rodrigo-Esau’s (they forced her to collab with the Migos after all..) so with country or generally acoustic maybe they have no choice but to let her flop with quality

Ew, Oh Gawd No, Her vocals will not sound good on a country track and that would be career suicide. The people that make majority of that fanbase, still believe she sold her soul to the devil when she became a popstar.

She should do the acoustic album she threatened after Prism. Ironically everyone panicked when she said that, but it could  have been the saving of her

I don't think so. I know this sounds shady but she should drop music  She's actually really witty and funny so I could see her pursuing tv or film with some success.

She should make a campy pop album like Kylie Minogue's Light Years. I could totally imagine Katy on a song like Spinning Around or Your Disco Needs You.

 

Either that or she could make a more mid-tempo album. What she really needs to do is to avoid writing her own lyrics outside of very personal songs and focus more on hooks/melodies, which she is much better at. Like the others said, she should also try a few acting roles in sitcoms or comedy films. She has all the money in the world, and her legacy can't be tarnished any further, so she has nothing to lose.

It is not that they don't know her, it is the fact that satanic panic channels on YouTube, and Illumanti conspiracy videos are still going strong. Literally, majority of the American country fan base is found within the bible belt. Also, being on AI, doesn't guarantee success, all it does is clean up the image of the celebrity leading to wider appeal. That is the current purpose of televised talemt shows nowqdays.

 

In Katy's case, going anything country adjacent,  will result in being called 'inauthentic' in a genre where authenticity is the main appeal and alienating her already established fanbase like Gaga did with Joanne. These two things will spell the end to Katy, if she does it. At least, with gospel she could maintain her current fanbse, since it wouldn't be a sharp turn (since we have heard how it would sound with Pendulum) and she has the voice for it.
