Can Taylor pull dance-pop?

Featured Replies

Many MPGs have done it

Madonna

Britney Spears

Christina Aguilera

Beyonce

Lady Gaga

Katy Perry

Dua Lipa

can Taylor do it?

and if she does it, what twist should she do to it?

who should help her producing it?

like Dua is heavily influenced by the disco, 80s sound

and Beyonce brought black music twist, such as dancehall, boogie, afrobeats. etc twist to it.

I think she could if she did a more 70s disco pop and big band sound with real instruments. "Shake It Off" and "Style" are pretty much that already. She could pull off a full album of those. But synthetic dance-pop ala Gaga and Rihanna? I'm not sure. Her songwriting doesn't really suit that.

Disco is 70's, not 80's...

...and yes, literally anybody can pull dance pop.

All you need is to hire dance producers. :michael:

100% this.

Taylor has a GP-friendly pop sound anyways, and she is a billion-dollar celebrity, she can just pretty much hire anyone in the industry.

I think she can but hopefully she won't go that route after folklore/evermore. It would have made sense if it is after reputation.

Maybe she can put one or two tracks in TS10 but hopefully she will go alternative-rock next like the State of Grace and original All Too Well.

She already has ? She’s released plenty of Dance-pop songs since Red

she just needs to hit up Max Martin and another banger is in the basket:gaylorcat2:

I don't she should do an entire dance album. Maybe throw 1-2 songs in Rep TV.

almost all her carreer is dance pop :deadbanana4:

Is her signature hit (Shake It Off) not considered dance pop?

Honey, please put down the refresh button and look around, EVERY pop girl here has conquered dance pop. Their is nothing shameful about dance pop wtfff lol unless you're a talentless cynical hag lol

maybe but i can't really see her doing a full album of disco or house music

She doesn’t have a hit that’s played on dancefloors actually, I’d love if she’d do that style at some point, even if just for  some stand-alone singles

maybe i should rephrase :deadbanana2:

obviously i LOVE dance pop, i mean if basic pop girls like let’s say those faceless ones like Bebe Rexha or Zara can do it, why won’t she? if she was able to jump genres, why not this :michael:

as to the topic of Taylor already doing pop dance, i wouldn’t necessarily associate this genre with her yet. i can’t really think of a dance club staple from her.

Lol, Taylor can pull off anything. Some people in your list didn't pull it off tho... Beyonce's attempt is really not IT and Perry and Dua are even more horrible.

The whole Reputation album is mostly dance pop. :gaycat6: + a large amount of Red and 1989

If you mean house, disco or EDM well anybody can do that. As long as you don't sing about "get up on the dance floor" it can only be good.

Can’t wait for This Is What You Came For (TV)
