I was actually really surprised to see all of her albums and a lot of songs are charting on the AM pop charts. Her recurrent streams on Spotify aren't as dreadful as certain fanbases like us to believe. She's doing perfectly fine given that she's in between eras and on a hiatus. 

If she releases another album with trap or r&b influences, she will be done done for sure, that sound is just tired now

 

She needs a Folklore/BEYONCE level of success in her next era to keep her career on the level it was

 

Reinvention is key, but honestly I don’t see it in her anymore

Isn't she consistenly one of the most streamed female artists?

Hasn't she been able to maintain her level of success pretty consistently since her second era? (and even, argubaly, since her first, as she's only increased since then?)

 

 

 

 

My only critiques for her would be for her to create an album/era all her own: an iconic sound/vibe/perspective that goes beyond just Top 40 sounds and takes her to the level of impeccable artist. She definitely has it in her (the vocals, production sense, the ear for hits/sounds) but she's also a relatively young artist still so I don't fault her for establishing her career before taking more risks.

 

Another thing I'd love to hear for her is some sort of big power ballad for the 2020s. She's one of the few pop girls with the vocie and the sensibilities to create one in the likes of Whitney, Mariah and Céline, and though the style may be dated, I'd love to hear her take on one in a more current perspective, as well as to finally have a single from her that fully utilizes her vocals and establishes them as a huge force. I think we all know that Ariana has them, as she uses them every change she gets, but as far as singles I don't think she has her I Have Nothing moment where the song is catered to showing off, not just one that allows her to have big ad-libs and a high note after the bridge or something, but one where every verse and chorus is a build up and display of her talents.

It all depends on what material she comes back with. She is currently at a point in her career when she desperately needs reinvention. If she comes back with another trap/r&b album or another bland pop album produced by Max Martin, as a certain user suggested on the first page, then she may be done. She needs something unexpected. Disco would be an interesting direction for her. Last year she worked with Nile Rodgers on one song, she should work with him on a whole album.

My reference is on the reinvention, not im how many hits those albums had.

 

Bey and Taylor transitioned well into their 30s with those albums, cause they reinvented themselves.

i feel better when you say this (first paragraph) 

 

i agree about the iconic ballad, but from my understanding she doesnt like that, but again she thinks touch it is boring so

That's what I started to think tbh. Not that ''she's totally over'' because it's probably impossible but that her next era will probably underperform. 

I keep seeing angry and disappointed Arianators that she's taking a break from music, her movie will take so long, this whole REM Beauty thing and that the Positions era gave them very little. And I actually noticed people hating on her more and more for the way she looks etc. and it goes VIRAL. I don't see people talking about her as much as they used to tho, her wedding made no noise what is surprising. And The Voice... from what I remember it did nothing to ratings of the show and her whole team got eliminated before the finale like why? She has a lot of fans and they didn't vote for her team? Weird. And the same sound on every album and REM Beauty... Not a good sign for her music career tbh. 

 

Maybe she will become a good actress instead... Who knows
