Charli XCX- Used to Love Me

 

I actually like a bulk of songs off of CRASH, but that single/song sounds dated. It's one thing to pay homage to 90s dancehall (I believe that's the genre; please correct me if I'm wrong); it's another to not make that sound original and have a 90s dancehall beat for the sake of having one. 

 

Demi Lovato- Skin of My Teeth

 

I don't hate this song, but the rock/pop sound is so dated. I vastly prefer Dancing With the Devil which also didn't have a unique sound, but at least the lyricism and vocal performance made it seem more raw and personal (and it was those things). Skin of My Teeth is still about a very real, traumatic experience, but the production choices cheapen that narrative for me. 

 

I'm curious what responses ATRLers are going to give.

Also - the gayle song, first class and the rest of jack harlow’s, and post Malone’s entire new album (it already sounds dated)

Music is full of recycled sounds, themes, and etc.

 

So almost everything on BBH100 is dated to someone cause its been done before.

ive been getting this feeling that stuff sound dated for the longest time now with every artist basically

but i think the ones thay stood out the most to me were the bep x shakira x david guetta track and the latest xtina singles
