Was this Adele theory true after all?

Featured Replies

Years ago, when Adele was still successful, people theorised that her being unconventionally beautiful and overweight contributed greatly to her success. Soccer moms saw her as nonthreatening compared to the other pop girls and flocked to buy her albums.

The theory was brushed off as delusional and unfounded.

Fast forward to now and she's skinny and conventionally attractive. Her album was a front-loaded disappointment and people seem hung up on her Vegas cancellation/ calling her a conceited diva.

Before, the ~problematic things she said (That she wanted to commit a mass shooting after seeing the taxes she paid on her album 19/ that she doesn't think she should have to pay taxes for social services because she "doesn't use them"/ "Trains are always late, most state schools are [rubbish], and I've gotta give you, like, four million quid - are you having a laugh?") were swept under the rug, if she said any of these things now, it would be another pr disaster.

So was the theory true after all?

Spoiler

And before any of you try it, this is what the GP are saying about her now, it's not just stans on atrl, or "gasps" those mean old swifties

It’s true, nobody loves Adele the way they used to. Everyone was always “oh I live Adele, she’s so funny and seems like a great person”. She became more like Jennifer Lopez and less like Bridget Jones.

stopped there tbh :skull:

Yes, the theory was true. Most people don’t have perfect bodies like 99 percent of pop stars. Adele was the exception, the overweight/less glamorous pop star, that they could relate to on a more human level.

The music quality dropped too of course, but her extreme transformation definitely made her lose a key part of what people found relatable

Adele really said she wanted to commit a mass shooting because of her taxes? :shakeno: When was this?

It's incredible how the swifties have somehow managed to make themselves believe that Adele is no longer successful :rip:

I can't believe how one fanbase can be so pressed against another one. Of all the feuds in here, this one is by far the most ridiculous. I can't believe some of you don't understand how braindead you sound when you say that Adele isn't successful anymore :rip:

You truly live in a bubble. People have no idea 30 "underperformed" compared to 25. Everyone knows Easy On Me spent weeks and weeks at #1. Everyone saw her specials. Everyone heard about her amazing show three days ago.

Did your mama drop you when you were a child or are you just a swiftie? Adele has just had her biggest hit since 2011, and if 30 is doing poorly is bc she promoted for literally 2 weeks, yet still it had a bigger opening week than any other artist these past few years....

If Adele is no longer considered successful then the entire music industry is in some deep sh*t.

Weird thread but go off I guess

:bibliahh:

No, that's like saying people were stanning her for her looks :toofunny3:

People got sick of waiting for her releases, that's it and still she debuted big and scored a huge hit.

Adele has always been conventionally beautiful.
