the new album is shiet but his last two albums were great and he's just very likeable

Good to great songs (occasional duds sure), a very consistent brand and image, strong personal connection with his audience, likable, and willing to put the time and effort into what he does. 

Good music, a strong image/brand and genuinely a nice person.

He was given multi-million dollar recording deal, right out of the gate. Even when his 1st album did mediocre, the level of promo never stopped. That was not afforded to the other boys.
