Well "Closer" was a Say So/KMM rip off designed to be a hit, including high profile feature and high budget video, and it completely bombed, so as far as music goes....well.... yeah. 

 

I imagine she figures she's better off cashing McDonald's checks and looking hot for IG these days than trying to release music.

I said the SAME THING last night.  

 

I was thinking about all these artists doing fast food meals.  And couldn’t remember which other female rapper did one (other than Megan)…and then remember it was SAWEETIE.  

And I was like where tf is she?  She dropped “Closer” and DIPPED.

The fact that pop radio STANNED it (top 15) yet it only peaked at #89 on the Hot 100 a smooth bop tho tbh

Honestly, it deserved the success "Big Energy" got. Doja set the bar high with "Say So" and "Kiss Me More" for this type of bubblegum pop rap hybrid, but "Closer" was super fun, had an infectiously charming hook from H.E.R., didn't rely on a lazy sample pandering to nostalgia, and wasn't produced by Dr. Luke.

 

A real shame...

 

OT: I don't know what's taking Saweetie so long to release "Pretty B***h Music". "Best Friend" might have not reached the top 10 on the charts, but it had a really strong and consistent performance regardless, and it should have encouraged the label to push the project, especially considering the amount of exposure she was getting throughout 2021.

She should have released after Doja gave her that hit

PBM is a myth at this point.
