You could argue that 1D has more public recognition, but BTS has the bigger hit and several Grammy nominations. As for touring and album sales, they appear to be equal. What do you think?

BTS overall, 1D was bigger here, but they never cracked the Asian market

i do think bts already has even more recognition than 1d 

also just the korean sales from bts are probably bigger than 1ds ww

BTS is way more global, even tho 1D has more known songs… it’s fair to say Army fandom has surpassed Directioners

BTS' best selling album is at 6M, 1D's at 7M I think. Theyre even in that regard

1D have always been avoidable

matter of fact no one I know listened to them (including myself)

I’ll say 1D. BTS are an extreme nonfactor outside of their rabid fan base; locals couldn’t care less about them. 1D had major celebrity status at their peak.

BTS most definitely. They lack known hits outside of Korea minus Dynamite but lets not act as if 1D werent fan base driven themselves and putting out WW hits because they werent.

 

 

1D felt bigger culturally/in the GP, BTS is way more fanbase-centric.
