Well-traveled, with nothing to show for it. Constantly starting over and over, moving to various cities, for no actual career advancement makes absolutely no sense—especially whenever he's always complaining about how broke he is. But, by all means, he can be happy with his little $11.60 an hour, working part-time, thinking there's nothing wrong while simultaneously wondering why he's in the state he's in. Like, you're 30-something, it's not cute anymore. But I'm the ass for pointing it out. Okay... :sadviolin:

Alexa, play "No Broke Boys." I just can't deal with the mentality anymore.

Sometimes if I'm getting into the discography of an older artist, especially one who's dead/retired, I'll hold off listening to like half of their albums and spread them out over time because then it's almost like getting new releases

This is how I do my discography dives, a few at a time spread out. I'd get very bored if I listened to them all at once and it allows me to cover more ground

I could never, especially if they have one or more songs I'm obsessed with. What do you mean I'm supposed to hold off on finding other songs I'll probably love. I need them now

Am I crazy if I think Glitter by Mariah is more experimental and interesting than anything Lady Gaga has ever done?

(Not trying to put two divas against each other, but a Gaga stan who reviews music panned Glitter to oblivion and that made me think)

The guy said the songs were "too long" and they  felt really "busy" with too many layers and the features were annoying, mumbling and making weird noises all the time. Almost as if it was the worst auditory experience of his life.

But to me my experience is completely different? The busier the songs get the more I live for it and the mix of R&B, Hip-Hop, Funk, Pop, Disco and on top of that some of the best ballads of her career... it's such a unique moment in her catalogue. I can see how it's not for everybody but in what world is Loverboy "unlistenable"?

Breaks ups are bad, but friendship breakups are 1000 times worse. Like last week we were still laughing and joking and now there's nothing.

I used the phrase "before we become strangers again" today and I'm gutted. :cries:

My poor husband hasn't dealt with me in this state since my best friend died.

That thread about streaming units vs. real sales... I always forget some people really care about that ****

Oh, I thought it was just my laptop, but it appears that the game crashes a lot for everyone.

Do I care about that topic? No. Do I think streaming is ruining pop culture and the music industry? Well yes...

Hyunjin got extensions in :jonny6: he definitely missing his long hair..

Labor Day weekend, or not, I didn't feel like driving and being out on the road. dog-lazy.gif

Can't decide on an avi because it kind of feels wrong now if it's not a GIF of a hot guy

I am, yes, born and raised. I'm still in the area, close enough—anyway. And it was; people should have seen that coming from a mile away. The response was always going to be what it was for the poorer communities.

The only thing that was really so-say done was changes to the city's infrastructure to better handle and respond to flooding. Of course progress is progress, but it wouldn't mean anything if something similar happens. All it'll take is another storm like Hurricane Katrina to prove they haven't done anything significant. I hope that it never happens, but it's inevitable to a certain degree.

If we didn't already have a family home in the area, I wouldn't even think about moving back.

It wouldn't surprise me if the reaction/response was actually the same again too. It seems like racism has grown since 2005. It also seems like people have oddly become more selfish - and would rather point figures at whose to blame then offering to help those in need.

It would definitely be the same, if not worse. There's a so-called Cajun Navy out here that promptly responded to the flooding that occurred in Texas several weeks ago. With what it has become, and the face it has, I doubt they'd respond to any kind of significant flooding in New Orleans—depending on the area. They'd go to Lakeview, and places like that, but they aren't boating out to uptown or Gretna. :toofunny2:

I hope we never have to find out. It's only a matter of time, though, even if it's years from now.
