You read my mind cause I've been thinking I need to avoid the main page at all costs. And you've have also summed up exactly how I feel. Most days I do like this place and using it as main source of music news but then I start to wonder if that's the case. The success stanning and the obsession with charts and sales and the impression that what makes an artist superior is how relevant they are or how much they sell currently... this is ingrained in most people's brains here. Especially these three or four big fanbases that control the narrative on what's cool and what isn't. I just love music. It's exhausting.
