Twice has several members who’ve contributed lyrics, RV has had Yeri and Wendy do lyrics and composition a bit (Yeriana wrote the rap in Red Flavor) + their behind the scenes recording clips show how they have input in vocal stuff during the process

Twice (especially on their recent albums) have a bunch of songs written by group members. Chae has BEEN writing raps for a while too.

That's fake news. Kenzie is the one that did the korean lyrics for Red Flavor, Yeri's name is not on the credits, at least not in the physical copy of the album (2:30). They have input in their music though, many kpop groups do.

Idk about that, but WENDY and YERI definitely co-wrote and are credited for the Korean lyrics of Close To Me, their collaboration with Ellie Goulding.

In their studio recording behind the scenes videos, WENDY is often acting as a vocal director. 

 

What we have to remember is that culturally, the western industry is geared towards more individuality whereas the Korean system is hierarchical. Creative freedom in the idol industry is more often seen as a privilege for seniors with very limited exceptions.

 

That doesn't make all idols automatically less talented than western artists. They are just operating in different systems which prioritize different things (for example the standard of performance/perfection expected is much much higher in the Korean industry than in western industries).

Well, SM is fishy like that. It's not the first time idols have said they've participated and then nothing appears in the credits. 

 

Yeri has openly said she adjusted the rap lyrics and added new words, so, like I said, idk.

Oh didnt knew they had that many. Always felt Chaeyoung is an interesting artist and have a nice creative vision so not surprised with her have so many credits. It will be interesting to see her solo project. Not sure if jyp will give her tho.
