Kpop choreo is so intense that a backing track is basically a requirement. Or so we like to convince ourselves. 

This isn’t true. Most Western artists have their microphones so heavily edited and filtered. The only girl who genuinely sings live is Kelly Clarkson in the West.

The girls did great. Whomever did the cameras and the staging needs to be fired, though. The performance ended up looking awful and reminded me of K-pop shows back in the late 2000s.

Yeah agree for sure Styling was off too they blended in with their backup dancers

The way BP still gets hell on a daily basis here but they’ll probably debut in the #15 with the title track. Actually hoping they don’t have features but sub-unit tracks instead, imagine the chaos

Billlie, wow the vocals they are screeching for life, I love it. Very edgy to come with a full on rock song and not pop rock, sadly I think a proper pop song could have given them a hit after Gingamingayo gave them hype. However this is basically a SM group so ridiculous desicions shouldn't surprise anyone.

The difference between you and me is that I will turn my back on my faves when they release trash and support the artists releasing the best material. But somehow you’re going to stand behind middling singles like Pop and trash minis like IM Nayeon and have the nerve to come for Girls, which had a great title, a great B-side, a strong pre-release and two good songs. 
 

In terms of quality, it is clearly: SM > HYBE > YG (poor quantity) = JYP (poor quality)

There's something that's just so magnetic about them on stage. Despite having so many members, they're all so memorable and distinctive. Can definitely understand why SK has stood by them for 15 years

The dramatics. Pop is a good harmless pop song. I’m not even defending anything that shouldn’t be defended here and have dragged my own faves plenty of times before for releasing trash. 
Now, it wouldn’t kill you to admit that Girls is simply not the “strongest mini of the year” as you said in your post. That doesn’t require any “nerve” for me to say. I’ve praised Illusion countless times in this very thread but everything in that mini overall was just nothing but forgettable. If you’re willing to call I’m Nayeon “trash” then idk how you can call Girls mini the opposite. The title track was an overproduced noise that even the girls’ vocals couldn’t save. I’m not the only one saying that in here btw.

 

They should do more stuff like this, they shine much more
